Business & Fitness?!

Hey Reader,

Many entrepreneurs & 9-to-5ers feel like they have ZERO time for working out.

(add a family and kids into the mix and it’s even more complicated)

The reason?

Meetings, calls, 12-hour shifts, a crying baby, and not to forget…

The gym.

For most people — and maybe even for you — it feels like the day doesn’t have enough hours…

It just seems as if 24 hours is not enough to accomplish every task waiting for you.

And honestly…

I get it.

Not long ago, my life as a coach was the exact same.

From client work to family life… I had a TON of work to do.

Some days it still feels like that…

(I’m not perfect and everything I share with you guys is advice for myself too)

But I learned an important lesson once that changed my life forever.

It’s using the RGI Formula:

R - Rest
G - Grace
I - Integrity

Focus on these 3 things in your everyday life, and you’re good to go.

Here’s how I do it myself:

  1. Choose to step OUT of the stress and INTO rest. This looks like making time for silence, not scrolling on my phone, and sitting in vision time with God.
  2. Then I choose to have grace for myself in any ways I’ve fallen short of how I desire to show up. Missed workouts, moody attitude, ungratefulness, etc...
  3. And finally (integrity) I look back on what I said I’m going to do or NOT going to do that I’ve forgotten about and stopped honoring…from here I send my attention back to letting my yes be yes and my no be no. (Matthew 5:37)

It sounds easy — and it is but isn’t at the same time.

It’s a dance of humility, forgiveness, and perseverance with the Holy Spirit that never ends.

Yet in this dance is where God works with us and we work with him in co-creation.

Now from this place we can see it’s usually not the busy work schedule holding you back, it’s instead…

  • The shame of going back on your word about following a diet and working out
  • Lack of forgiveness for self from your previous attempts
  • And the tendency to rush into things without taking the time to stop and make new commitments from a space of rest.

And I know that some of you will say:

“Yes Patrick, that sounds good, but it’s absolutely unrealistic for my individual life… I don’t think it will work.”

To that I say…

lol.

I feel you - but if you don’t slow down now to get it right you’ll only regret it later.

I am sure that everyone can use rest, grace, and integrity to get out of the hole in their health.

Much love,
Patrick.
